The holiday season is abuzz around us and a themed curriculum plan can be especially fun during the month of December.
There are so many different focal points in December and this one is all about the gingerbread cookie.
This FREE printable features some of the cutest gingerbread cookies with sight words.
If you didn’t get to celebrate National Cookie Day on December the 4th then you have ample time to incorporate all the different types of cookies before the month ends.
If you have any young readers in your family these gingerbread sight word matching sheets are perfect for reinforcing basic reading terms that are critical to learning to read.
About the Freebie:
This freebie is a set of 27 gingerbread sight words matching printouts. Your student will match the colored version of the gingerbread to the black and white version of the gingerbread cookies.
It also comes with a blank sheet of cookies that you can add your own sight words.
How to Use it:
- Download and print out the worksheet.
- It is best if you laminate the entire document first and then cut out your cookies to ensure the longevity of your printable.
- To avoid sharp edges when cutting your laminated pages cut in a curved direction or use a nail file depending on your preference.
- You can cut out each cookie on the black and white page for matching or you can leave the black and white copy intact.
- Next, take the colored copy of the cookies and cut out the shapes. Your students will match up the correct sight words to their respective vocabulary word.
