The third Monday of every January is a day where we celebrate the life and legacy of Martin Luther King Jr.
This year that falls on January 17th.
These history worksheets provide a brief biography about MLK and then incorporate fun activities to build on the legacy of a great leader.
One of the best parts of these MLK worksheets is that there are several activities that can be incorporated for younger students as well. This pack serves as a great opportunity to push your student based on their current academic level.
If you love this freebie then you will want to get your hands on the Black History Month pack [linked at the bottom of the post] because it covers 8 different influential Black leaders with a similar layout of lessons.
About the Freebie:
This freebie has 10 pages focusing on the life and legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. There is a fact profile detailing the highlights of his life with a blank version for them to practice what they learned. As well as, a reading comprehension sheet, 3 writing prompts, a drawing tutorial, and 2 color-by-code sheets.
Most of these pages especially the reading portions are best for older children. I would suggest 2nd grade and up. You should use discretion based on your child’s ability for which worksheets to use.
How to Use it:
- Download and print out the worksheet.
- You can break the worksheets into multiple days or do it as a set.
- Have your student read the fact profile. Follow up with filling out the who am I sheet.
- You can then incorporate the additional worksheets however you would like.
