Did you know cookies are the best snack ever? Think about it.
They have multiple flavors, come in different sizes, are easy to eat, and pair perfectly with milk giving you your needed dairy for the day.
Ok-maybe I made that last part up, but cookies are still amazing.
Sandra Lee says “Cookies are the sweetest little bit of comfort food. They are bite-sized and personal.”
And honestly who am I to disagree?!
Cookies are so amazing in fact that they have a whole day dedicated to them it’s December 4th National Cookie Day.
So we get to enjoy the delicious goodness that is a warm chocolate chip cookie and I will share some freebies with you.
So there! You get freebies and I get to eat cookies (while everyone sleeps).
This Cookie Day freebie includes free cookie math activities that are excellent for your young mathematician.
About the Freebie:
This freebie is a set of cookie addition and subtraction equations. There are several blank cookies with numbers on them. Your students will match the math equation to the total on the cookie.
You can choose to have them do only one math operation at a time or alternate between both operations. Each cookie will hold 5 chocolate chips if you cut them neatly.
How to Use it:
- Download and print out the worksheet
- Laminate the entire document first and then cut out your cookies and equations.
- To avoid sharp edges when cutting your laminated pages stack at least three sheets and cut in a curved direction or use a nail file depending on your preference.
- Have students choose a number and start placing the chocolate chips on the right cookies.
- Have fun building up those math skills.
