March 17th is officially the given day to commemorate St. Patrick’s Day, which is marking the arrival of Christianity in Ireland. While most people don’t really focus on the history of St. Patrick’s Day it is a holiday that is so much fun to celebrate.
Have you started teaching any St. Patrick’s Day history in your homeschool?
Whether you answered yes or no these scavenger hunts are still a great add-on for the holiday.
With two different scavenger hunt options you can do them on separate days to get the most fun out of them.
How to Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day at Home:
[using this printable]
- A Scavenger Hunt
- St. Patrick’s Day Green Item Finds
Using the Activities & Crafts:
The green item finds activity is great for all ages from preschool [with help] up to middle school. It gives 12 different green items that your little one must search for around the house.
If they are younger you may need to tell them what they need to find. Older kids can read and find the items on their own. You can even set a timer and see how many they can find within a set time limit.
While the scavenger hunt will work best for 1st grade up to middle school. It is meant to lead to a fun prize, which can be educational or otherwise. It’s an easy way to celebrate and find their own pot of gold.
There are 6 cards that need to placed in different places. The directions sheet tells you exactly where each card needs to go so there is no guessing.
